About
Matagorda Beach:
A beach permit is required to drive on the beach. It can be
purchased for $6.00 at local businesses. Glass containers are
not allowed on the beach and driving on dunes is not allowed
- each will get you a stiff fine. Matagorda has excellent fishing
and great fresh seafood to cook or take home. You can fish in
the surf, off the jetties or in the Colorado River. Matagorda
is one of the top bird watching areas in the nation! Bring your
jet ski and surfboard for extra fun. The two closest places
to eat out are Waterfront Restaurant in Matagorda, a restaurant
only, with a large, good menu of seafood as well as other types
of food and River Bend Tavern, on the Colorado River south of
the intracoastal canal, with a good, varied menu.
We
accept cash, money orders or checks.
