Sterling Shores Homeowners Association - Fall 2006
Sterling
Shores Homeowners Association Fall 2006 Several good things have happened
on Beach Front Drive this year since our last Annual Meeting on Saturday,
May 27, 2006. We now have two neighborhood security
watch signs installed along with new 30 MPH signs. We are still trying
to get the County to install two more security watch signs along the back
portion of Beach Front Drive. We tried to influence the County to install
new 20 MPH street signs on our street but our street is a County Road
and only school zones get the 20 MPH signs.
We now have a current computer based street directory that has been updated
to match the current Matagorda County 2007 Tax Roll data base. We will
try to keep the Directory current as houses are sold and new owners join
us on our street. We are still planning to install a new Sterling Shores
sign at the front of our neighborhood. We tried to get the trash pickup
day changed to an earlier weekly day but we were not able to make the
change due to current trash vendor schedules.
Sterling
Shores and Matagorda have really changed in 2006 with the LCRA project
almost developed and the new overhead bridge construction starting for
the bridge to be located over the Intercostals Waterway. The current beach
access road will soon be closed to all vehicles and the new access road
will be located north of the Dunes. We are pleased with the progress we
have been able to achieve this year but it is just the beginning. Together,
we can make Sterling Shores better and more advantageous for all members.
Sincerely,
Barney Mason, Jr. President
