Matagorda Sterling Shores Homeowners Association Meeting Minutes

Saturday, May 27, 2006

(Revised: June 2, 2006)

Barney Mason opened the meeting.

County Commissioner George Deshotels stated that the new Intercostals Bridge constructions will most likely start within the August Â? October time frame.  Presently, the construction plan calls for construction to start near the Sea Breeze.

A $2 million dollar funding has been approved for the Colorado River mouth dredging but a $3.6 million dollar bid was received.

Higher property tax and property value issues were discussed and it was determined that the increases were more of a State of Texas issue rather than a Matagorda County issue.

Beach Front Drive speeding problems and slow rolling speed bumps and speed limit signs were discussed. Commissioner Deshotels agreed to install Â?Slow -Children at PlayÂ? signs on the street and a new Beach Front Drive sign at the River Road intersection.

Hazardous material disposal concerns were discussed and Commissioner Deshotels stated that the County will accept hazardous material disposal at the Bay City County Barn during the 3rd Saturday in September. The Matagorda County Barn will accept metal materials during work hours.

Jeff Singleton, LCRA, discussed the current construction project and the Jetty Park location will be completed in July 2006. Both Jeff and Commissioner Deshotels advised the members that the beach access change will take place in the fall. Jeff discussed the waste collection system and its future accessibility to Sterling Shores
